More Volunteer Opportunities

    Mediation is coming of age in Oklahoma. We are seeing many new types of case referrals. These include employment, parent/teen issues, Grandparents seeking visitation, permanency planning, and community sentencing. If you have an area of interest that you would like to train and work in, please let us know. You may need additional training too. This can be one day or a week, depending on the type of mediation. There are also applications required for some type of mediation so please do not wait to notify us of your interest.

    We need office help! If you need additional volunteer time, or just want the experience, we need persons to help screen family and divorce cases. We also need help doing the everyday operation of filing, making copies. building mediator packets, and scheduling mediators. This work will be counted as mediator volunteer time.

    We are seeking volunteers to work with students mediators. Several schools within the North program area have, or are implementing, peer mediation. ES North needs peer-based trainers and mentors for both the students and school staff. Student mediators may include K-12, or even college students as we have a growing campus based mediation program

    Student mediators need outside mediators who will offer support and debrief with them. School staff needs extra support, as that offer do not have the time or skills to help peer mediators. This work can be arranged around the volunteer's availability. It is usually 1-4 hours each month while school is in session.
