Finding Good Child Care Providers in Your Area

1. Call the toll-free Resource & Referral hotline, visit the Internet DHS Child Care Locator, or call your County Cooperative Extension Office.
2. Make a list of 3-5 programs that suit your family's needs.
3. Call for a time to visit each facility;.
4. Visit and evaluate using the quality checklist.
5. When you have narrowed down to 2 programs, call your local Department of Human Services to obtain a copy of each program's records.
